Selyuk: RPL teams choose ambiguous coaches
Famous Russian agent Dmitriy Selyuk praised former Khimki head coach Frank Arti's work in the 2024/25 season during his interview. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He described Artig as a professional, a reliable specialist who worked in Barcelona for ten years. Selyuk emphasized that Artig worked at Khimki without a salary or bonuses, managing to keep the team in the Russian Premier League based solely on sporting principles.
He particularly highlighted the transformation of players, mentioning that Baqaev is currently being called up to the Russian national team. He also noted that Djikiya had not played for a year, but Artig had given opportunities to players like him, achieving important victories against Zenit, Krasnodar, and Lokomotiv. Selyuk criticized many clubs for frequently changing coaches, predicting that this situation would not remain unchanged until the end of the season.
He stated that club leaders would be forced to search for another coach or fight to stay in the league. It has previously been reported that the Khimki team will not participate in the 2025/26 Russian championship. This decision is said to be related to sporting and financial difficulties.
