Franco Kamocci, who was previously an advisor to Leonid Fedun, commented on the transfer of forward Anton Zabolotnin to Moscow's Spartak club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
A one-year work contract has been signed between the parties. In an interview with Betonmobile, Kamocci stated, "I wouldn't have taken Zabolotnin. It's not related to his time at Zenit and CSKA, but rather because of his age — he is 34.
I don't understand why Spartak has signed him," he said. Last season, Zabolotnin played for the Moscow region's Khimki club. He appeared in 31 matches and scored six goals.
In the 2024/2025 season, Spartak finished fourth in the Russian Premier League. Overall, Anton Zabolotnin's transfer to Spartak is expected to create new opportunities for the club.
However, his age and recent performances are being evaluated differently among fans and experts. The club's management and coaches seem to have made such decisions to strengthen the team further.
Next season, a clearer assessment of Zabolotnin's performance and overall impact can be made.
