Marseille's head coach has moved Moroccan midfielder Azzedine Ounahi to the reserve team for refusing to transfer to Spartak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The red-and-white team offered an 11 million euro contract with the French club, but the player wanted to stay at Panathinaikos in Greece, where he is on loan. Panathinaikos, however, only offered 9 million euros for the player.
It is reported that there is significant pressure on the Moroccan player's agents at Marseille. The club's management does not want to miss out on a potentially beneficial deal with Spartak.
The official reason for Ounahi's transfer to the second team is stated as his professional status being restored, but in reality, it is seen as a punishment for refusing to sign a contract with Spartak. In the 2024/2025 season, Ounahi played a total of 37 matches in all club tournaments, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists.
Ounahi's transfer value is estimated at around 10 million euros. Marseille is firm in selling the player and will not change its position on this matter in the future.
