The former owner of the Spanish football club “Kordova,” Jesus Leon, has been sentenced to several years in prison. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The entrepreneur from the city of Montoro was convicted of financial crimes and deprived of his freedom for a total of 11 years. Leon will serve part of his sentence during the investigation process, so he may be released in less than seven years.
According to the Spanish publication “Marca,” Leon deliberately put the “Kordova” club into financial difficulties for personal gain. He was also accused of money laundering.
The “Kordova” club last participated in the top league of Spanish football in 2015. Currently, the club is active in lower leagues.
This situation has been a significant blow to Spanish football and has negatively impacted the club's reputation. Leon's sentence demonstrates accountability for these crimes and serves to prevent similar situations in the future.
