The conflict and scandals in Russian football continue. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The "Torpedo" team was expelled from the Russian Premier League for attempting to organize fixed matches during the spring months. This team had returned to the league about two months ago.
In addition, "Torpedo" was fined five million rubles. This incident will not end here, as a criminal case has been opened against representatives of "Torpedo."
It has been revealed that in the match against "KAMAZ" in May, referee Bogdan Golovko was given 1.5 million rubles through an intermediary. If the results of "Torpedo" in the 2024/2025 season are annulled, the First League table will change significantly.
It should be noted that "Torpedo" finished the season in second place, with "Baltika" behind them. If the results are annulled, the "Chernomorets" team will take second place, but they do not have a license.
Thus, the "Ural" team will directly enter the Premier League, as they will occupy the third place without "Torpedo." In the playoff matches, "Sochi" (fourth place) and another team will participate.
Since "SKA-Khabarovsk" (fifth place) has not obtained a license, the spot may be given to "Yenisey" (sixth place). These circumstances indicate that serious changes are expected in Russian football in the future.
