Argentina championship stopped due to corruption scandal

The Argentina championship will take a one-week break. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The matches of the 9th round are planned to be held later. This decision was caused by the corruption scandal surrounding the local football federation.
This was reported by euro-football.ru. Interestingly, the matches of the 7th and 8th rounds will be held at the scheduled time.
However, the break will affect the schedule of the 9th round matches, which fall on March 5–8. The reason is that on March 5, the president of the Argentina Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, will have to report in court.
According to Derbyderbyderby.it, the federation is suspected of evading taxes amounting to 19 billion pesos through illegal schemes related to pension payments for former players and staff. This amount is approximately 12 million euros.
There are also suspicions that the federation's structure may have been involved in money laundering processes. Such scandals around football in South America are once again attracting more attention than the games on the field.
This situation highlights the need for a more serious approach to the responsibility of football organizations and their leaders.
