Igor Ledyahov, a former player of the Russian national team and Spartak, commented on the decision of the Russian Football Union to return the Orenburg team to the top league. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his opinion, it would be fairer for the teams Fakel and Orenburg to remain in the Russian Premier League, as well as for the Ural team to join. This way, the league would consist of 18 teams, and there would be no doubts, Ledyahov emphasized in an interview with the Championat publication.
The former player also noted that the likelihood of the Russian Football Union finding another option is low. It was previously reported that the Orenburg team finished in 15th place last season and was relegated to the Parimatch League.
However, due to the scandal involving the Moscow Torpedo team and the bribery of referees, the Orenburg team was given the opportunity to participate in the next season of the Russian championship. This decision was made to maintain fairness and competitiveness within the top league.
