Former Moscow "Dynamo" head coach Sergey Silkin shared his thoughts on the goals that the Moscow club should set for the new Russian Premier League season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He also expressed his opinion on whether head coach Valery Karpin should be replaced if the team fails to show the expected results at the start of the league. According to Silkin, the optimal result for "Dynamo" should be to compete for the first place.
The team has not competed for the championship for a long time. He noted that once the games begin, it will be possible to predict who will be fighting for which positions, and this situation will become clear approximately after the fifth round.
Silkin also emphasized that there should be no rush to dismiss Karpin even if the team does not show good results at the beginning of the season. The "Dynamo" team appointed Karpin as head coach in May of this year.
Previously, he was the head coach of the "Rostov" club. Additionally, Karpin has been managing the Russian national team since 2021.
In the first round of the new season, "Dynamo" will play against "Baltika" on July 18.
