Former CSKA striker Valeriy Masalitin proposed a solution to the problem of referees in the Russian Professional Football League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his opinion, it is necessary to increase referees' salaries so that they would refrain from taking bribes. According to the expert, players receive large sums from the budget, while referees earn about 200,000 rubles per game.
If referees' salaries were higher, they would not feel the need to accept bribes. Masalitin emphasized that the salary gap between players and referees is very large, even though funds are allocated from the budget for both.
Additionally, recently, the leaders of the Moscow "Torpedo" team were arrested, and the names of 12 individuals who offered money to referees became known. This incident once again highlighted the issue of corruption within the refereeing system.
Therefore, it is important to ensure appropriate salaries for referees and take measures to protect them from corruption. This will help enhance the fairness and reliability of football matches.
