For the first time in the world, artificial intelligence has been admitted to a higher education institution. According to Euronews, a neural network named Flynn will study in the field of digital art.
Flynn successfully passed the university's standard admission processes: he submitted a portfolio, participated in an interview, and took entrance exams. Interestingly, the artificial intelligence did not hide its non-human nature. However, this did not raise any doubts or resistance among the university teachers.
“There is no written requirement that students must only be human. For specific reasons, no one has thought about this before,” said Liz Haas, head of the digital art department at the university. She noted that Flynn performed very well during the interview process and presented a high-level portfolio.
The specialists who created Flynn stated that they plan to involve the artificial intelligence in classes and interactions with students to further improve it. He is expected to officially start his education from the fall semester, but is already participating in some classes.
This event marks the beginning of a new era in education and clearly demonstrates how quickly artificial intelligence is integrating into human activities.
