Scientists in the United States have, for the first time, succeeded in creating an embryo by taking DNA from a human skin cell and fertilizing it with a sperm cell. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This new method offers the possibility to help individuals who are unable to conceive. Currently, the process is not fully developed and requires significant time and additional research before it can be widely applied in clinics.
During the procedure, the nucleus of the skin cell is placed into a donor egg, which is then reprocessed with half the DNA, and subsequently fertilized by a sperm cell. In current experiments, embryos have been created that do not exceed six days.
Experts consider this scientific breakthrough very important but emphasize the need for open and transparent communication with the public regarding safety and ethical issues. This research is expected to open new doors in the fields of human health and reproductive technologies.
