YouTube has launched a new program called “Second Chance.” This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This program allows creators of blocked content to apply to return to the platform after one year. This was reported by Rozetked.me.
According to the company, the “Second Chance” program is not an appeal. It is intended for users who have already exhausted the option to officially request a review of the decision.
Each case will be considered individually, and the decision will be based on the nature of the violation and compliance with current policies. Additionally, channels that have violated copyright will not be eligible to participate in this program.
Once the application is approved, the creator will be able to create a new channel, re-upload previous videos (if they do not violate current policies), and enable monetization. Notifications about this new feature will appear in the desktop version of YouTube Studio in the coming months.
The program was introduced based on a letter from Google to U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan. In this letter, the company expressed its intention to restore channels blocked due to misinformation related to COVID-19 and elections.
