Apple has doubled the reward amount given to specialists who identify security vulnerabilities. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This change was made within the framework of the Apple Security Bounty program, and now the reward for identifying the most dangerous attack chains can reach up to 2 million dollars. If a researcher manages to bypass Lockdown Mode or find unclear bugs in beta versions, the total reward can increase up to 5 million dollars.
Apple considers this amount to be one of the largest and unprecedented rewards in the industry. The company’s statement notes that with additional bonuses, the reward can exceed 5 million dollars.
Additionally, the reward for bypassing the Gatekeeper system has been raised to up to 100 thousand dollars, and the reward for identifying vulnerabilities in the iCloud service has been increased to up to 1 million dollars. The updated rules will take effect from November 2025.
This month, a new list of categories and rewards will be announced on the official Apple Security Research website. These changes are aimed at further encouraging researchers in the field of security and enhancing the safety of Apple products.
The company highly values the contribution of specialists in ensuring security and will continue to encourage them.
