Sam Altman admitted to artificial intelligence's errors in timing

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has openly admitted that artificial intelligence technologies are currently facing serious difficulties in accurately measuring and tracking time. Zamin.uz reported on this.
He promised to eliminate this deficiency and further improve the system's capabilities within the next year. This issue sparked widespread discussion following video clips shared on social networks.
The video showed the AI's voice mode providing completely fabricated information instead of showing the user the real time. While answering questions during the "Mostly Human" show, Sam Altman confirmed that this is indeed a complex task for the system.
According to his explanation, current voice models do not have the function to start timers or monitor the duration of events in real-time. However, company specialists are working on fully integrating these functions into the system through updates to be implemented in the near future.
AI models frequently make mistakes when dealing with concepts of time. They often misjudge time intervals in text conversations or struggle to analyze clocks in images.
Interestingly, when the user who raised this issue asked the ChatGPT system about Altman's comments, the chatbot—contrary to its creator's words—claimed that it does have the ability to track time. This situation shows that artificial intelligence still has a long way to go in assessing its own capabilities.
In the future, developers are expected to provide more stable solutions for precise mathematical calculations and time management.
