General Motors (GM) is planning to actively implement artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. AI will be used in the production of electric vehicles, logistics processes, services, and other areas.
For this purpose, GM has hired 49-year-old Barak Turovskiy. He previously led the AI department at Cisco and also managed the technology department at Google.
GM's senior representative Dave Richardson emphasized that AI will play a crucial role in the future of electric and internal combustion engine vehicles, as well as autonomous transport systems. According to him, Turovskiy's experience will accelerate the integration of AI technologies into GM products.
Currently, GM is using AI technologies in the following areas:
- Identifying the most convenient locations for charging stations for electric vehicles
- Improving vehicle orders for dealers
- Optimizing manufacturing processes
Turovskiy will join GM's software and services division and help advance the company's AI strategy.
