Significant reforms are being implemented in our country to develop greenhouse farms and enhance their competitiveness. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Currently, a total of 5,100 hectares of greenhouses are operating in our republic. Over the last seven years, the volume of products grown in these greenhouses has increased from 110,000 tons to 546,000 tons.
This is of great importance in ensuring the food security of our country. However, there are also problems that need to be addressed in the sector.
Entrepreneurs are dissatisfied with the heavy burden of credit, the high cost of fertilizers, and the lack of continuous gas supply. For example, more than 600 hectares of greenhouse activity has been halted, and 128 hectares have been transferred to the bank's balance due to debts.
For this reason, measures to support greenhouse farms are being implemented by the state. Within the framework of new opportunities and reliefs, greenhouses that have taken on export obligations and operate on natural gas will be provided with guaranteed volumes of gas during the winter season.
Additionally, greenhouses that use coal or other alternative heating systems and have taken on export obligations will be given the opportunity to return to natural gas. The advance payment for working capital supply is set at 50 percent for the period from October to March, and the contract will be signed by October 1.
The loan term for greenhouses that have switched to alternative heating systems will be extended. Furthermore, up to 20 percent of costs will be covered for greenhouses using heat pump technologies, and 4 percent will be covered for loans.
Regardless of the category, greenhouses will pay land tax at the agricultural land rate. By 2028, the social tax rate for greenhouse workers will be reduced from 12 percent to 1 percent.
The tax committee has been tasked with strengthening analysis and monitoring across the entire system, studying the efficiency of gas reduced from greenhouses in other sectors, and redirecting gas back to greenhouses if necessary. The environmental issues related to the negative impact of greenhouse operations on air quality in the Tashkent region need to be resolved quickly.
In his speech, the President emphasized that greenhouses are an important sector for food and economic security and assigned relevant agencies the task of establishing strict control in the sector. These new reforms and opportunities will create a solid foundation for the greenhouse business and stimulate the activities of entrepreneurs.
For every entrepreneur, farmer, and worker in our country, these innovations will provide great opportunities and mark a new stage. Source: zamin.uz
