According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, as of January 2025, there are a total of 208 higher education institutions (HEIs) operating in Uzbekistan. Of these, 108 are state, 30 are foreign, and 70 are non-state HEIs.

Tashkent State University of Economics – 47,140 students
Tashkent International Chemical University – 35,666 students
Uzbekistan National University – 34,450 students
ISFT Institute – 29,561 students
Tashkent University of Practical Sciences – 28,345 students
