New reforms are being introduced in the education sector in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced at the video conference held on September 9 that talented young people who graduate from school with high grades will be admitted directly to the second year of certain higher education institutions. Previously, students would enter the first year of university and then continue their studies.
Now, graduates with high knowledge and experience will have the opportunity to save time and start studying directly from the second year. This system aims to support talented youth and help realize their potential in practice.
Additionally, special branch schools are planned to be established. Al-Khwarizmi schools will operate in the field of information technology, Mirzo Ulugbek schools in engineering, and Ibn Sina schools in natural sciences.
These schools will be directly affiliated with technical universities in the regions. As a result, the admission of students to higher education will be systematic and targeted.
Furthermore, in 2026, the most prestigious international chemistry and informatics olympiads among school students will be held for the first time in Central Asian countries, specifically in Uzbekistan. The task of organizing this event at a high level has been assigned to the Prime Minister.
This is expected to increase Uzbekistan's international prestige and serve as a great motivation for young people. Source: kursiv.media.
