Chinese language will now officially be taught in higher education institutions, technical schools, and schools in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced during a video conference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on September 9. The meeting was dedicated to reforms in preschool and school education as well as future priority tasks.
The President emphasized that teaching Chinese will help prepare young people for modern professions, create a stable source of income for them, and contribute to reducing poverty and unemployment in the country. The head of state noted that equipping young people with vocational skills and ensuring their ability to earn a stable income is the most important task.
If this process is properly organized, the number of poor and unemployed people in communities will decrease. Additionally, within the framework of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, promising projects worth 35 billion dollars are planned in the fields of energy, geology, chemistry, transport, agriculture, and water resources.
Thousands of qualified specialists who are well-versed in technologies and have mastered the Chinese language will be needed for these projects. For this purpose, it is planned to establish two “Uzbekistan – China workshops” in each region.
In these centers, young people will be trained in professions based on Chinese experience and modern technologies. Currently, more than one hundred language specialists and volunteers are being involved to teach Chinese in universities, technical schools, and schools.
This initiative will not only contribute to the development of the education system but also serve to prepare the necessary personnel for the successful implementation of large investment projects. Source: zamin.uz
