The process of registering death certificates in Uzbekistan will be digitized. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Justice, starting from March 1, 2026, death certificates will be issued electronically and will be assigned a QR code. These documents will be automatically sent through the my.gov.uz portal to the personal accounts of the deceased's close relatives, namely the spouse, parents, or children.
This will completely replace paper certificates. Additionally, by June 1, 2026, the "Unified Electronic Register of Funeral Services" module will be launched, which will also allow the use of a mobile application.
Through this platform, all permits for funerals will be formalized. In Tashkent city, from July 1 to December 31, 2026, the paper-based cemetery record-keeping will be abolished as a pilot project.
From that period onward, funeral permits will only be issued in digital form. These innovations are aimed at creating convenience for the population and further simplifying services.
