
Uzbekistan plans to rapidly develop the tourism sector over the next five years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, the goal is to increase the volume of tourism services exports to 20 billion dollars. This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his address.
To achieve this goal, comprehensive infrastructure projects will be implemented in the city of Samarkand. The Bibikhanum Mosque, Registan Square, Amir Timur Mausoleum, Ulugh Beg Observatory, Shakhi-Zinda complex, and Afrosiyob Museum will be united as a single tourist area.
Additionally, the first phase of a large tourism complex called "Gelon" will be launched in Shakhrisabz. In Pop district, the establishment of the "Arashan" mountain resort tourism zone is planned.
The Ichon-Qala town in Khorezm region will be transformed into a modern "smart" museum. Furthermore, major tourist routes will be created around archaeological sites in the regions of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm.
These projects will serve to attract foreign tourists and extend their stay in Uzbekistan. To develop the tourism sector, 85 trillion soums in credit funds and 9 trillion soums in subsidies are planned to be allocated.
Also, to support educational services, 7 trillion soums will be allocated from the state budget. Source: zamin.uz
