More than 63 thousand criminal cases were heard in 2025

According to official data from the Supreme Court, extensive work was carried out on criminal cases in the courts of Uzbekistan in 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the year, a total of 63,177 criminal cases were reviewed, involving 79,554 individuals. As a result, 63,340 citizens were subjected to court sentences.
Of those convicted, 18,816 were sentenced to imprisonment, while 43,531 received other types of penalties. Additionally, 993 individuals were sentenced on a conditional basis.
The majority of those convicted were men — their number amounted to 55,829. Women accounted for 7,511 individuals.
The number of convicted youth was also significant, with 23,973 young people sentenced during the year, including 2,431 minors. Furthermore, the number of convicted persons over 60 years old was 2,830.
Importantly, 422 individuals were fully acquitted and rehabilitated. As a result of utilizing reconciliation institutions, 13,224 citizens were exempted from criminal liability.
Criminal cases were mostly reviewed in Tashkent city, Fergana, Tashkent, Samarkand, and Namangan regions. These figures once again highlight the need to strengthen preventive measures, improve legal culture, and reinforce public oversight.
