President sets the development of creative economy and culture
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a presentation dedicated to the development of the creative economy, improvement of cultural infrastructure, and the establishment of new creative spaces. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Several important initiatives were discussed, including the establishment of the National Restoration Institute, the restoration of the Bibikhonim Mosque in Samarkand, and the renovation project of the "Turkiston" summer amphitheater. The meeting emphasized that the demographic composition and rapid development of digital infrastructure provide a solid foundation for the creative economy.

The goals are clearly defined: by 2030, to increase the share of the creative economy in the gross domestic product to 5 percent, to raise export volume to 1 billion dollars, and to increase the number of people employed in the sector to 500,000. The project to establish a creative industry park in Tashkent city was reviewed in detail.

This park is planned to include green areas, art objects, creative studios, a coworking center, film and video production spaces, as well as a hotel for young people. The project will be implemented on a public-private partnership basis.

Similar creative parks are also planned to be built in the new cities of Tashkent and Nukus. The Nukus project includes the construction of Uzbekistan’s national pavilion for "EXPO-2025" and a modern library.

This is not only about buildings but also about fostering an intellectual environment and cultural activities. The condition of over 800 cultural centers across the republic was also analyzed during the meeting.

It was noted that more than half of them are in need of repair, and their activities do not meet modern requirements. A pilot project was developed to renovate four cultural centers in Tashkent, Kokand, Bukhara, and Samarkand based on modern standards.

Another important initiative is the establishment of a Higher School of Traditional Arts in Tashkent. This school will train specialists in areas such as pottery, wood carving, and architectural calligraphy.

The educational processes will be conducted in accordance with international standards. Additionally, the restoration of the Bibikhonim Mosque in Samarkand and the renovation of the "Turkiston" amphitheater will be carried out in coordination with UNESCO.

The President emphasized that these projects have not only cultural but also economic significance and gave instructions to ensure their high-quality implementation. These initiatives will create new opportunities not only for youth and creatives but also will give new momentum to the development of cities and the economy.

Most importantly, these plans must not remain on paper but should yield effective results in practice. Source: One.uz.
