
In Halong Bay, located in the northern part of Vietnam, 34 people lost their lives due to the capsizing of a tour boat. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident occurred while the boat, intended for tourism, was moving in the sea. There were a total of 53 people on board, including 48 passengers and 5 crew members.
All the deceased and the survivors are Vietnamese citizens. It has been reported that most of the passengers were tourists, with more than 20 of them being children.
According to reports, the boat capsized due to strong winds and thunderstorms. As a result of the search efforts by rescuers, 34 bodies were found, including eight children.
Additionally, 11 people survived, but several others are reported missing. Halong Bay is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam, attracting thousands of local and foreign tourists for boat trips each year.
This tragedy calls for enhanced safety measures in the area. Currently, investigators are conducting inquiries into the incident, while health and emergency service personnel continue their rescue and assistance efforts.
This event highlights the need to reassess safety standards in Vietnam's maritime infrastructure. It has been determined that serious attention must be paid to weather monitoring and navigation equipment on boats intended for tourism.
