New changes have been introduced in the process of obtaining a US visa. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the information announced by the US Embassy in Uzbekistan, additional fees and requirements have been intensified in the visa application process based on a new law recently signed by President Donald Trump. The most significant update is that, in addition to the previously paid fee of $185 for non-immigrant visas, a "visa integrity fee" has been introduced.
This new fee amounts to $250 and significantly increases the overall costs. This additional fee is mandatory for all citizens wishing to obtain a non-immigrant visa and has been implemented as a measure to ensure the security of the country's borders and to combat the illegal extension of visa durations.
The amount of the fee may be changed in the future by the Department of Homeland Security. So far, information has only been provided about the increase in fees for non-immigrant visas, and there are no such changes for immigrant visas.
Additionally, it is required that documents in the visa application process be prepared more accurately and completely. Experts say that during the Trump administration, the number of visa denials has increased, even for applicants with complete documentation.
Due to the sharp increase in applications for US visas from Uzbekistan in recent years, Ambassador Jonathan Henik emphasized the need for patience and time in the process. In summary, the new law has brought additional costs and difficulties for citizens planning to travel to the US.
Before obtaining a visa, all official requirements and financial obligations must be carefully studied. There is a possibility that new changes may occur in this area in the future.
