On July 27, Sunday, Russia resumed regular passenger air travel to the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This is the first direct air connection between the two countries since the mid-1990s. According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, the first flight will depart from Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow on July 27 at 19:00 (21:00 Tashkent time).
The flight will last eight hours and will be operated by an aircraft designed for 440 passengers. The price of airline tickets starts at 44,700 rubles, which is approximately 563 US dollars.
The tickets for the first flight were quickly sold out. Additionally, a 10-day passenger train service between Moscow and Pyongyang was also restored in June 2025.
This indicates the gradual restoration of transport links between the two countries. Official Moscow and Pyongyang are striving to strengthen mutual cooperation.
At the same time, there are claims in the international community regarding North Korea supplying weapons and artillery to Russia, but both countries firmly deny these accusations. The development of transport and political relations is of significant importance for regional stability.
