The Starbase Brewing Company of the USA and Jaguar Space aerospace organization are preparing to conduct a unique scientific experiment. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the report, beer will be produced in space for the first time. The project organizers shared this information on social media.
As part of the project named MicroBrew-1, a special container will be sent to the International Space Station. It will contain malt extract and yeast, which play a key role in beer production.
The astronauts will initiate the fermentation process at the station. According to Luis Zeaning, head of Jaguar Space and microbiologist, this project is the result of two years of scientific research and preparation.
The prepared beer will be stored in space for a certain period and then returned to Earth. Through this, scientists will study the effects of microgravity and cosmic radiation on yeast activity and product quality.
This information will be crucial for the future development of agriculture on Mars or other planets and for the local production of food products. Additionally, Jaguar Space is also working on another experiment.
This experiment is aimed at a deep analysis of the fermentation process under microgravity and cosmic radiation conditions. These scientific developments will significantly contribute to the advancement of technologies for living and producing in space.
