In the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, beauty salons intended for women are being forced to cease operations en masse. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This situation is occurring as a result of strict inspections and pressures carried out by the Taliban. According to witnesses, militants are checking buildings located in various areas of the city, identifying beauty salons, vandalizing their interior furnishings, and sometimes confiscating the salons.
This process is causing significant economic harm not only to salon owners but also to thousands of women. According to reports, approximately 60,000 women were employed in beauty salons in Kabul.
Among these women are young girls, women supporting their families, and specialists with many years of experience. Now, most of them are left unemployed, and their living conditions may worsen further.
Analysts assess such actions as part of the Taliban's policy to gradually exclude women from social and economic life. They believe that this policy will not only limit women's opportunities but also negatively impact the entire country's economy.
Currently, local citizens and international human rights organizations are strongly condemning this situation, emphasizing the need to restore work and activity opportunities for women. However, it remains unclear how feasible it is to find a solution to this problem under the current political conditions.
Thus, the closure of beauty salons for women in Kabul is causing not only economic but also social problems.
