Officials in Kazakhstan are being taken on tours of prisons
In Kazakhstan, civil servants are being introduced to the cells where prisoners sit, interrogation rooms, and the exercise areas designated for convicts. This was announced by the chairman of the country's anti-corruption agency, Daniyar Bigaydarov.

It is reported that 2,510 civil servants have undergone such preventive measures in the form of "shock therapy" against the consequences of corruption.

According to Bigaydarov, heads of state bodies, district akims and their deputies, as well as heads of various levels of government apparatuses and departments have visited penal institutions.

"With these methods, we do not aim to intimidate civil servants. The main goal is for every employee in the public sector to have an understanding of the consequences of corruption violations and to know what to expect if they break the law," said a representative of the Anti-Corruption Agency.

It has been reported that in Kazakhstan, in 2024, the Anti-Corruption Agency awarded 104 citizens a total of 35.5 million tenge in rewards. Additionally, there has been an increase in reports of corruption cases among civil servants.
