The situation in the Western Coast region has once again escalated. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the Palestinian village of Al-Mug‘ayir, hundreds of olive trees were uprooted with the help of heavy machinery and bulldozers sent by Israel. According to the Arab News publication, the majority of the cut trees are olive trees that hold historical and cultural significance and play an important role in the region's economy and the lifestyle of the population.
The head of the local agricultural association emphasized that these actions are not limited to damaging nature alone. According to him, such measures are political attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinian population from the occupied lands and putting rural communities under severe pressure.
Olive groves are not only an economic resource but also hold great importance as a national heritage passed down from generation to generation. Representatives of the Israeli Defense Forces justified their actions by describing them as security measures and counter-terrorism operations.
In their view, in some areas, the groves could serve as hidden shelters for illegal activities. However, the local population does not accept these explanations.
According to them, the destroyed olive trees have been the main source of income for hundreds of families for years. Now, losing these groves represents a significant economic blow and spiritual loss for the rural residents.
Experts indicate that such a situation further intensifies the conflict in the region. The cutting down of olive trees threatens the entire village’s way of life and economic stability.
The incident in the village of Al-Mug‘ayir once again demonstrated how deep the conflict between Palestine and Israel is. These disputes lead to serious consequences not only politically but also environmentally and socially.
