East Anglia is experiencing one of the driest seasons in recent years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Anglian Water company data, only 165 millimeters of rain fell from February to July. This is the third lowest rainfall since 1899.
Experts emphasize that the problem of water scarcity is worsening. The company advises residents to use water sparingly.
So far, there are no restrictions on using water for garden irrigation in East Anglia. However, experts have stated that considering the water shortage, such restrictions need to be introduced.
According to specialists, only prolonged rainfall can help nature recover. Due to climate change, water reserves are gradually decreasing and remain at risk.
In the first twenty days of August, only 10 millimeters of rain fell in East Anglia. Under normal conditions, an average of 60 millimeters of rainfall would be expected during this period.
Meteorologists reported that only 53 percent of the expected rain fell during this part of the summer. Anglian Water company recommends residents temporarily stop washing cars and be cautious when watering yards and gardens.
The company stresses that wise use of water is important for the future and reminds that it is necessary to leave as much water as possible in nature.
