In the town of Los-Palasios-i-Villafranca, Spain, a male customer became dissatisfied with the restaurant staff because mayonnaise was not brought to him and set fire to the establishment's building. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the Pravilamag publication. The incident occurred last Wednesday.
The man, approximately 50 years old, entered a local dining establishment with his son and ordered two sandwiches. According to surveillance cameras, he asked the waiter for extra mayonnaise, but the staff could not fulfill his request because the kitchen had run out of the sauce.
After that, the customer asked another waiter for mayonnaise, but the answer was negative. After some time, the man stood up, left the place, and returned carrying a gasoline-filled canister.
He asked again about the sauce, but after receiving a refusal, he poured the fuel on the bar counter and started a fire. At the time of the incident, the café was full of people, but upon seeing the flames, the customers quickly evacuated.
The staff managed to control the fire using fire extinguishing equipment. As a result, no one was injured, but the material damage amounted to approximately $9,500.
After the incident, the man tried to flee the scene, but the police apprehended him shortly afterward. It was revealed that he seriously injured his left hand during the fire.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
