North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will visit Beijing next week to attend a major military parade alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This will be Kim Jong Un's first international multilateral meeting and is considered an important diplomatic achievement for Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The parade will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
China will showcase hundreds of aircraft, tanks, and new military technologies. The event will take place at the historic Tiananmen Square, with tens of thousands of soldiers participating.
In addition to the leaders of Russia and North Korea, leaders from 26 other countries are also expected to attend the parade. This will be the first time since 1959 that the North Korean leader participates in a parade held in China.
Western countries will not participate in the parade as they continue to condemn Russia's military actions in Ukraine. Moreover, Kim Jong Un's sending of weapons and military aid to Russia has been sharply criticized in Western countries.
Experts believe that this meeting will provide additional strength to Xi Jinping in international politics. Kim Jong Un, meanwhile, is striving to maintain a balance between China and Russia.
At the same time, the possibility of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to Asia is also being discussed.
