
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with the families of soldiers who died fighting on the Russian side in Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He expressed condolences to the deceased soldiers and, in memory of them, wrapped their photos in a flag and handed them over to their families. This ceremony was held in Pyongyang.
In his speech, Kim Jong Un expressed regret for not being able to bring the soldiers back alive. He also promised that a memorial would be erected in honor of the fallen and that care would be provided to their children.
According to South Korean sources, North Korea sent about 15,000 soldiers to assist Russia, as well as delivered rockets and other weapons. In return, Pyongyang received food and technical aid.
Western officials have stated that hundreds of North Korean soldiers have been killed in battles, and thousands have been wounded. Next week, Kim Jong Un is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a military parade held in China.
This will be their third meeting in the past two years, indicating the strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
