A 42-year-old woman living in Belgorod region became a victim of a scammer by believing in magic and witchcraft. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
She transferred more than 4 million rubles to the fortune teller over four months in order to "save her family from a curse." The regional Interior Ministry provided official information about this.
The incident began when the woman saw an advertisement for "magical services" on the internet. To contact the fortune teller, she wrote "So be it" under the post and soon received a reply.
At first, she was asked to pay 2,000 rubles under the pretext of buying candles for a ritual. Later, the fortune teller claimed that all members of the woman's family were "cursed" and that it needed to be removed immediately.
After that, the woman regularly sent money for four months. The total amount reached 4 million rubles, but no positive changes occurred in her life.
The situation became even more suspicious when the fortune teller demanded that the woman sell her entire apartment for the "final ritual." According to the "Gubkinsky" city Interior Department, last week 70 citizens in the region fell victim to remote theft and phone scams.
The total damage exceeded 30.4 million rubles, of which nearly 6 million were credit funds. The Interior Ministry urges citizens to be cautious.
