During a demonstration in Berlin involving supporters of Palestine, Irish activist Kitty O’Brien, who was punched by a police officer and suffered a broken hand and nose, stated that the German government and police's treatment of demonstrators should face strong international criticism. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to 25-year-old activist O’Brien, during the protest on August 28, a police officer punched her twice in the face. As a result, her nose and hand were broken, and her radial nerve was damaged.
She was unable to walk without medical assistance for a week. O’Brien emphasized that over the past two years, the German police have been using excessive force against supporters of Palestine.
According to her, actions aimed at silencing activists "because violence continues in Palestine" will not succeed; on the contrary, these actions are drawing even more attention from the international community. Earlier, on August 28, Berlin police dispersed about 200 demonstrators gathered to commemorate journalists killed in Gaza and arrested eight participants.
O’Brien’s punching and the footage capturing the incident sparked widespread public discussion and received extensive media coverage.
