On the morning of April 6, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. A fire occurred in a non-residential building in the Darnytskyi district, and another building was destroyed. In the Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out in a furniture workshop and warehouse. Additionally, a five-story building of a business center was partially destroyed. It is reported that the office of the Freedom TV channel is located there. In the Solomianskyi district, the facade of a warehouse building was damaged.
According to the latest information, one person was killed and three others were injured as a result of the attack.

During the night, Russian troops also attacked the civilian infrastructure of the city of Sumy with drones. According to the State Emergency Service (SES), as a result of the attack, administrative and warehouse buildings were set on fire. There were no casualties.
SES reported that Russian troops dropped aerial bombs on residential areas of the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. As a result, fires occurred in residential buildings. Two people—a 67-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman—were injured. According to Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv regional administration, one of the shells hit a nine-story residential building, where balconies from the second to the seventh floors, as well as four apartments, were burned.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of April 6, the Russian army delivered a "group strike" with high-precision weapons and drones to "the central artillery base of the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as defense industry enterprises involved in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles." "The objectives of the strike were achieved. The facilities were accurately targeted," the military agency stated.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the latest strikes by the Russian army during the night. He emphasized that "pressure on Russia is still insufficient, and Russia's daily strikes on Ukraine prove this."
"Russia is showing its true intentions—while the world allows it, it continues its terror. <…> Such attacks are a response from [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to all international diplomatic efforts. Every partner—America, all of Europe, the whole world—sees that Russia wants to continue fighting and killing. Therefore, there should be no talk of easing pressure. All efforts must be directed towards ensuring security and bringing peace closer," wrote the Ukrainian president.
One day earlier, Zelensky criticized the response from the US embassy in Ukraine regarding the news that 19 people, including nine children, were killed as a result of the strike on Kryvyi Rih. On April 4, Ambassador Bridget Brink wrote that she was "horrified" by the ballistic missile hitting a children's playground and restaurant area in Kryvyi Rih. However, she did not specify whose missile it was. Zelensky called such a reaction "weakness." "Unfortunately, the reaction of the American embassy is surprisingly disappointing: such a powerful country, such a strong people—and such a weak reaction. They are afraid to even say the word 'Russian' when talking about a missile that killed children," said the Ukrainian president.
On April 6, commenting on the strike on Kyiv, the ambassador mentioned Russia: "As of 6:30 AM, Kyiv and the rest of Ukraine are being shelled by ballistic and cruise missiles from Russia. There are reports of strong explosions in the capital and attacks in several cities," Brink wrote on the social media platform X.
