The President of France announced on Monday in Paris, during the UN General Assembly meeting, the official recognition of the State of Palestine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, this decision is an important part of a broader peace initiative in the region. President Emmanuel Macron stated that he met and held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
He emphasized that recognizing the State of Palestine is the most appropriate way to isolate HAMAS. Additionally, Macron called Israel's attempt to seize Palestinian territories on the west bank of the Jordan River a "red line."
For reference, currently 148 countries have recognized Palestine's independence, and Palestinian embassies or permanent missions operate in 95 countries worldwide. This step is regarded as an important political move aimed at strengthening stability and peace in the region.
