The Italian parliament has adopted a comprehensive law regulating the field of artificial intelligence. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This law is aimed at protecting human interests, ensuring transparency, and strengthening security. The law particularly provides for strict liability measures against fake videos and fraud through artificial intelligence.
In some cases, such crimes are punishable by imprisonment from one to five years. The new regulations govern the use of artificial intelligence in the labor market, healthcare, and education sectors based on clear rules.
Additionally, parental consent is required for children under 14 to access platforms. Accountability of state bodies will be increased, and market supervision and cybersecurity monitoring will be regularly conducted.
To promote innovation, a mechanism for venture investments in startups and telecommunications projects is also being established. Experts consider this law an important step in implementing artificial intelligence policy at the European level.
The law specifies a clear timeline, penalties, and the powers of regulatory bodies. However, some critics emphasize that the volume of investment is insufficient for global competition.
Nevertheless, the main goal is to legally define the balance between risks and benefits.
