According to the official statement from the Kremlin, the words of US President Donald Trump about the possibility of reclaiming Ukrainian territories were directly influenced by Kyiv's leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov particularly rejected Trump's comparison of Russia to a "paper tiger" and strongly criticized such a comparison. According to Peskov, Russia is not a tiger but a state closer to a bear.
Paper bears, however, do not exist at all. He stated that Trump's words were said after the meeting with Zelenskyy and were mainly shaped under the influence of the Ukrainian side's viewpoint.
These views fundamentally differ from Russia's perspective on the situation. Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had the opportunity to convey Russia's true position to the American delegation during the UN General Assembly in New York.
Peskov also responded to Trump's statement that Russia is in a "deep economic crisis." He emphasized that despite sanctions, the Russian economy remains stable and predictable.
Furthermore, all the needs of the armed forces for military operations in Ukraine are fully met. According to Peskov, Trump's statements primarily stem from US business interests and the goal of increasing oil and gas exports.
Thus, the Kremlin assessed Trump's views influenced by Zelenskyy as contrary to reality and recognized Russia's economic and political power as stable.
