The construction of the world's tallest suspension bridge in China has been completed, and preparations are underway for its official opening. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This bridge is built in the Guizhou valley in southwestern China, on the road connecting the cities of Liuzhi and Anlong. The bridge crosses over the Huatszyan Grand Canyon and, being located 625 meters above sea level, holds the title of the world's tallest suspension bridge.
The total length of the bridge is 2.9 kilometers, with the distance between the main pillars being 1.4 kilometers. The load-bearing structures are made of steel, weighing approximately 22 thousand tons.
This is equivalent to the weight of two Eiffel Towers. Construction began at the beginning of 2022, and the bridge serves not only as an important route for transportation but also offers a unique view for tourists.
According to experts, once the new bridge is put into operation, it will provide great convenience for drivers. A journey that previously took two hours will now be reduced to just two minutes.
The official opening of the bridge is scheduled for September 28. This project will significantly improve the region's transportation system and create new opportunities in the economic and tourism sectors.
