Significant changes are expected in the operation of Canada Post. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, Joel Lightbound, home delivery of mail will be almost completely stopped. The minister emphasized that the postal service is facing serious financial difficulties and is currently incurring losses of approximately ten million Canadian dollars per day.
The government assistance provided is insufficient to solve the problem. As a result of the reforms, the average mail delivery time may shorten to three to four days initially, and later extend to three to seven days.
Additionally, some post offices are expected to close, resulting in mail not being delivered to the homes of about four million Canadians. In such cases, the Commission for the Review of Operations has proposed installing additional mailboxes in public places to provide convenience for residents in areas without mail delivery.
These changes could significantly impact the daily lives of the population. Interruptions in postal services and longer delivery times will cause difficulties for citizens in receiving letters and other postal items.
Therefore, it will be necessary for the population to adapt to the new system and change the way they use postal services. These reforms in Canada Post are seen as measures aimed at improving the efficiency of postal services and ensuring financial stability in the country.
