Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke at the National Council for Science and Technology meeting on September 26, emphasizing that science and modern technologies hold strategic importance for every country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He likened the situations at global climate summits to large-scale fraud. Tokayev recalled participating in major summits held in Dubai and Baku and shared his impressions.
In his opinion, the processes encountered at these gatherings resemble mass deception. He mentioned that Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov also supported this view.
Additionally, former US President Donald Trump recently called climate change the biggest fraud in the world from the UN podium. The Kazakhstan government announced a plan to implement a full decarbonization program within 35 years.
According to Tokayev, currently the country produces 118 billion kilowatt-hours of energy annually, but this figure is insufficient. With the development of digitalization and artificial intelligence technologies, the demand for energy is increasing.
The president also stressed the importance of rational and efficient use of energy sources. In particular, he highlighted the coal industry, noting that Kazakhstan extracts over 113 million tons of coal annually and ranks among the top ten countries worldwide.
It is worth recalling that on September 23, former US President Donald Trump also called the climate crisis a major fraud, emphasizing that forecasts by the UN and other international organizations have often been incorrect. He stated that such policies have caused economic harm to many countries and warned, "If you do not abandon this green fraud, your country will lose."
