Kiev suspects that unmanned aerial vehicles from Hungary may have been used for reconnaissance purposes against Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided information about this situation following a meeting with military officials on September 26. According to the report presented to him, Ukraine's airspace was violated in the western part of the country.
According to Zelenskyy, the incident occurred near the Ukraine-Hungary border. The drones operating in that area are likely to belong to Hungary.
Preliminary military assessments indicate that these unmanned devices monitored industrial facilities in Ukraine's border regions. At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that he has ordered a thorough re-examination of the available information.
It is worth recalling that in May of this year, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the exposure of a Hungarian military intelligence espionage network within the country. This event further complicated relations between Kiev and Budapest.
Meanwhile, Hungary has denied Zelenskyy's accusations and stated that it considers such claims unfounded. According to Budapest, Kiev's statements are aimed at artificially escalating the situation.
