Vinisius Junior, a player for the Brazilian national team and Real Madrid club, defended his rights in court and preserved his brand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information, in 2018, a businessman living in La Coruña registered a brand related to the footballer's name under his own name. However, Vinisius Junior had officially registered the "Vinicius Jr" trademark in 2017.
For this reason, the footballer applied to the court to restore his rights. During the court proceedings, the businessman claimed that Vinisius was not widely known at that time and that the brand had no connection to the footballer.
However, the court found this claim unfounded. Additionally, in 2023, the businessman again attempted to sue the footballer, but the court rejected his applications.
As a result, the courts of La Coruña and the Provincial court upheld Vinisius Junior's claim and annulled the registration of the brand under the businessman's name. Furthermore, the court imposed an obligation on him to pay the costs.
Thus, Vinisius Junior achieved an important victory not only on the field but also in the legal arena. His name and brand are now officially protected as personal rights.
This decision is of great importance for modern football, as personal brands hold significant value alongside on-field achievements. Vinisius's recent successes and international recognition have made his brand even more valuable.
