The French Ministry of the Interior estimates that, unlike the rallies and strikes held on September 18, more than 400,000 people participated in the latest demonstrations organized by trade unions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the newspaper Le Figaro, officials stated that the number of protesters did not exceed 400,000, which indicates lower participation compared to the actions on September 18. On that day, the Ministry of the Interior estimated 100,000 participants, while trade unions claimed the number reached one million.
During the protests, online activists operated under the slogan "Block Everything!" and there was a risk of disturbances. Accordingly, more than 80,000 police officers were mobilized, and public safety was ensured after more than 300 people were detained.
Additionally, on October 2, protests are expected to take place with tension in major cities such as Nantes, Rennes, Toulouse, Lyon, and Dijon. Although officials have not determined how many police and gendarmes will be mobilized to maintain order in the European part of France, Paris police prefect Laurent Nunes promised to deploy 5,000 officers to patrol the streets of Paris.
These measures are being taken to maintain public order and prevent disturbances during the protests.
