
The Japanese government has accused China of conducting illegal research activities in the exclusive economic zone near the Amami Islands in the East China Sea and has officially expressed its protest. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Yoshimasa Hayashi, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, announced this at a press conference. According to him, strong regret and sharp objections were conveyed to Beijing through diplomatic channels, and an immediate halt to these activities was demanded.
According to reports, on September 28 and 30, the Japanese Coast Guard detected a Chinese oceanographic vessel installing pipe-like equipment underwater near the Amami Islands. Following this, Japanese patrol ships demanded via loudspeaker that the vessel leave the exclusive economic zone.
The Japanese government has characterized this incident as a threat to national security and a violation of the law, firmly demanding that China refrain from such actions in the future. It is emphasized that this situation could negatively affect relations between the two countries.
The Japanese government noted the necessity of adhering to international legal norms and respecting territorial sovereignty. It was also stated that diplomatic negotiations will continue to prevent such situations in the future.
