
Several military personnel serving in the Ministry of Defense system in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, have been detained on suspicion of involvement in corruption during the military recruitment process. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The official press service of the State Committee for National Security announced this. According to the investigation, the military personnel organized a corruption scheme by taking bribes during the contract-based military recruitment process.
It was revealed that they demanded bribes from citizens ranging from 70,000 to 90,000 soms. Additionally, individuals who refused to pay bribes before entering service faced various administrative obstacles.
By the decision of the Lenin District Court of Bishkek city, the commander of the military unit in the Ministry of Defense, B.M., was detained for two months.
The investigation is ongoing, with inquiries being conducted to identify the criminals and determine their responsibility. The investigation and inspection processes are still underway.
This incident once again highlights the importance of combating corruption in the military recruitment process.
