The HAMAS movement in Palestine made an important statement within the framework of the peace plan presented by former United States President Donald Trump. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In its official appeal, the group announced its readiness to hand over all individuals held hostage in the Gaza Strip and the bodies of those who have died to Israel. This was reported by the AFP news agency and Al Jazeera television channel.
The HAMAS statement reads: “If the necessary conditions are created, we are ready to act based on the exchange formula proposed by President Trump. We are also ready to start negotiations through mediators as soon as possible.” Additionally, the movement expressed its intention to transfer the governance of the Gaza Strip in the future to an independent body “based on Palestinian national consensus, supported by Arab and Islamic backing.”
This could enable the start of new political processes in the region. However, HAMAS political bureau representative Musab Abu Marzouk emphasized that handing over hostages and bodies within 72 hours would be difficult in practice, and for now, this issue is being considered only theoretically.
Furthermore, the movement openly stated that no decision has yet been made regarding disarmament. HAMAS leaders based in Qatar note the necessity to modify some conditions in the plan proposed by the US president.
Former US President Donald Trump announced HAMAS’s response statement on the Truth Social social network, writing that this process could be the last chance for peace. He emphasized that if the agreement is not reached, serious consequences may arise for HAMAS.
This event indicates that the complex political processes in the region are entering a new phase. Future negotiations may significantly impact not only the Gaza Strip but also the future of the entire Middle East region.
