A citizen of Uzbekistan who filmed a woman in Turkey was deported
On April 13, a citizen of Uzbekistan who filmed a woman without permission in the metro in Turkey was deported and fined, according to nova24.uz.

The woman who reported the incident to the Turkish law enforcement authorities filed a complaint. The Uzbek man was detained, and an investigation was initiated against him. As a result, his work permit was revoked, and he was expelled from the country for violating personal privacy.

The punishment could have been even more severe — a criminal case could have been opened, and he could have faced imprisonment. However, due to the intervention of the Uzbek Consulate, it was limited to a fine and deportation.

Earlier in 2024, the Uzbek Consulate in Istanbul had warned Uzbeks that taking photos or videos without permission is against the law.
